During the height of the pandemic, we produced a number of campus tours for Cardiff University’s virtual open days.
We filmed aerial drone footage to show how close Cathays Park Campus is to the city centre, as well as several student guides explaining what campus life is like. The videos were shot for postgraduate and undergraduate audiences, with bi-lingual piece to cameras.
When the brief starts with ‘we want it in the style of a Netflix true crime documentary’, you know it’s going to be a good project!
It was our pleasure to produce this video for USW Criminology to promote their brilliant Cold Case Unit. We planned, filmed and edited the main video, plus social media edits (with English and Welsh subtitles) for both organic and paid advertising.
Exploring Global Problems is a 14 episode podcast demonstrating Swansea University’s ground breaking research into global challenges. Carnival Content pitched the concept to Swansea ahead of REF 2021. We produced, recorded, edited and published the series.
This project won Best Brand / Reputation Campaign at the 2020 HEIST Awards!
We also filmed each episode. The full videos were published on Swansea University’s YouTube channel and two 30 second highlight video clips were edited per episode (with English and Welsh subtitles and in square and portrait formats). These were used to promote the podcast on social media.
In total we produced 14 audio podcasts and 70 videos, as well as photography of the guests. We maximised the amount of content produced in each hour long session. This method of producing content at scale gives our clients the best ROI. It helps them overcome the resource issue of publishing high quality content consistently on social media.
We learnt a lot about these global issues from working with the incredible academics at Swansea University. It was also our pleasure to work with the very talented Sam Blaxland, who is the host of the podcast and a future broadcast star in our opinion!

We had a brilliant time filming the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama’s Superbrass Weekend. The event ran over three days and covered performances, workshops and rehearsals.
We produced a number of promotional videos from the weekend. The first was the ‘aftermovie’, which celebrated the weekend and was used on social media (see above). Then a corporate video including animated infographics was created as a case study for this type of event.
Finally, a course video was produced using the footage, as well as a series of interviews with students and staff. We edited the video to promote the brass courses at the College.
It was a great weekend and we loved the AmserJazz evening!
We produced four cinematic videos for Aberystwyth University. The two English and two Welsh-medium productions are designed to promote their agriculture research and farm facilities. Their main goal is student recruitment.
When working with locations as beautiful as those in around Aberystwyth, it’s easy to create something special – especially when you have a drone pilot with the skills of Mei! The majority of footage was shot by Carnival Content plus some existing b-roll.
The challenge was to cover the four key research areas in a concise enough video to work on their website and cut short square versions for social media. With some careful editing the results can be seen above, with a very happy client!
The three day shoot was just before the clocks went back for winter and autumn was on its way. With multiple key messages for each of the videos, we carefully planned the production schedule with the IBERS team, leaving flexibility for the large number of locations and interviews required.
It was our pleasure to create these videos and we’re really proud of the final edits!
Cardiff Business School used a top London agency to create the dramatic black and white ‘I stand for…’ campaign. The campaign message is about bringing public value to life in Cardiff Business School.
Carnival Content were called into to shoot the second set of photography for Cardiff University’s professional programmes. We matched the style from the existing photos, using a grey backdrop and empowering poses. The edited photos were delivered to a tight deadline.
We worked in partnership with Richard to design and write ECBM London’s content marketing strategy. This included a competitor analysis, tone of voice guidelines, KPIs and key marketing messages.
We also provided bespoke in-house training for Richard and his team to understand and deliver the strategy. The training focused on content production for social media, with lots of ‘best in class’ examples and inspiration. The team loved the element of competition and immediately integrated in-house video production into their social media output.
After working in higher education for many years, graduation still is one of our favourite events. It’s the perfect time for a university or college to capture testimonials from students.
We filmed ECBM’s graduation ceremony at the beautiful Honourable Artillery Company in central London. We captured a lot of smiling graduates and vox pop interviews. This was all edited into a wonderful video for the graduates and their families. The video also gives a good insight into studying at ECBM for prospective students.
